CAFÉ INTERNATIONAL
baroque orchestra
international - cross-border - lively
The CAFÉ INTERNATIONAL Baroque Orchestra was founded by long-standing chamber music partners who are dedicated to interactive music exchange across continents, in quest of baroque sounds and orchestral performance practice in the fields of court and urban music, secular and religious opera and oratorio traditions of the late 17th and early 18th centuries. The search methods consist of new and experimental ways that differ from the usual methods and conventional performance practice of early music.
While the orchestra members are mostly young, they all have in common a solid academic background and wide experience in the field of baroque music, combined with new impulses derived from continuous research endeavors. Various countries from all over the world – namely Lebanon, Colombia, Spain, France, Italy, Netherlands, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Japan, Korea and Germany – are represented in the entire ensemble.
In addition to the common musical language, the musicians also share the desire for a lively international exchange.
The related vocal ensemble CAFÉ INTERNATIONAL offers the perfect counterpart as choir to the instrumental orchestra’s constitution for oratorio performances in small professional casts.
